Mexico sets dates for major electricity tenders

 

Mexico’s government published the dates for the announcement of winners for the Andrés Manuel López Obrador administration’s first large electricity tenders.

The winner for a US$2mn, 30MVA substation with a 4km, 115kV interconnecting line in Tabasco state will be announced on February 20.

And the winner of a tender for a 60MVA electrical substation with a 7.9km, 230kV interconnecting line in Mexico City will be announced on February 21. Required investments have not been disclosed, but under the envisioned scheme, the developer finances construction and state electricity utility CFE will repay the full amount once the project is operational.
