Fujitsu Launches CO2 Data Sharing Platform to Support Supply Chain Decarbonization

Fujitsu has introduced a new enterprise platform for sharing product-level CO2 data across supply chains, in collaboration with a consortium of twelve suppliers. The initiative is intended to support emissions transparency and improve accuracy in Scope 3 reporting.
The platform enables the exchange of Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) data, which provides a standardized measurement of carbon emissions associated with specific goods and services. Fujitsu reports that 27% of its value chain emissions fall under this category, highlighting the importance of supplier cooperation.
The project faced initial challenges, including limited supplier readiness and data availability. Fujitsu addressed this through a consultative rollout that included one-on-one engagement and capacity-building sessions. As a result, twelve global suppliers are now active participants in the platform’s pilot phase.
Fujitsu aims to expand the platform to more partners over the next year, aligning with its target of achieving net-zero emissions across its value chain by 2040. The system also positions the company to meet emerging disclosure requirements in key markets such as Japan and the European Union.
For AI-driven sustainability and digital infrastructure sectors, the platform represents a practical model for applying data-sharing principles to decarbonization. Analysts note the platform could be adapted for use in other carbon-intensive industries and serves as a case study for technology-enabled ESG compliance.
