Clarity AI Acquires Ecolytiq to Expand AI-Powered ESG Analytics in Asia
The team at ecolytiq, which was acquired by Clarity AI in July 2025 to expand ESG analytics for financial institutions.
Clarity AI, a technology and artificial intelligence firm focused on sustainability analytics, has announced the acquisition of ecolytiq, a European company known for its consumer-facing sustainability intelligence tools. The acquisition is intended to expand Clarity AI’s ESG analytics capabilities, particularly in retail and commercial banking across Asia.
Ecolytiq specializes in integrating carbon footprint analysis into banking applications, enabling consumers to track and adjust their spending habits in ways that reduce environmental impact. Clarity AI plans to incorporate this capability into its broader suite of AI-driven sustainability intelligence tools, further enhancing its appeal to financial institutions looking to meet evolving ESG benchmarks.
The acquisition coincides with Visa taking an investor and strategic partner role in Clarity AI. Visa has had a long-standing partnership with ecolytiq, having worked together to embed sustainability tools into its payment platforms. The move is widely interpreted as a signal of continued institutional interest in scalable, AI-powered ESG analytics.
“Ecolytiq’s behavioral science–based approach aligns with our mission to embed sustainability into every financial decision,” said Rebeca Minguela, Founder and CEO of Clarity AI. David Lais, ecolytiq’s co-founder, emphasized the role of personal finance in influencing climate outcomes at scale.
The acquisition illustrates a growing emphasis on climate-centric financial technology, particularly solutions that combine AI with granular ESG data. Analysts note that ESG transparency is increasingly seen as essential not only for institutional portfolio management but also for expanding retail investor engagement in sustainability-linked assets, especially in markets like Southeast Asia, where regulatory frameworks are catching up to global standards.
