Zero Trust and Green Compute Dominate AI Data Center Design in APAC
Data center operators in Asia pivot toward zero-trust architectures and green compute to future-proof against emerging AI risks and sustainability pressures.
AI data centers in Asia-Pacific are increasingly adopting zero-trust security and green compute frameworks to meet new operational expectations. The rise of AI workloads has heightened risks, prompting the integration of identity-driven access control, physical isolation, and AI-driven threat detection tools.
Cybersecurity firms like Fortinet and Palo Alto Networks report rising adoption of secure fabrics for hyperscale environments. At the same time, green design is taking center stage, with Google, Meta, and AWS investing in renewable energy procurement and liquid cooling in their APAC builds.
Government agencies, including Japan’s METI and Singapore’s EMA, are incentivizing sustainability and security certifications, linking them to approvals for new capacity. ESG-focused infrastructure funds, such as GIC InfraTech and Macquarie Capital, are also prioritizing projects aligned with zero-trust and green benchmarks.
Together, these shifts reflect a broader evolution in how AI data centers are conceived, financed, and operated across Asia-Pacific.
