IBM Consulting Reports Surge in Ethical AI Demand for HR Projects
IBM appointed Thirukkumaran Nagarajan as Vice President, Human Resources, Asia Pacific in May 2025. The leadership move aligns with increased regional demand for IBM Consulting’s services on AI governance, fairness, and bias mitigation in HR transformation projects.
IBM Consulting is reporting rising demand across Asia for its services focused on ethical AI use in HR transformation. This includes requests for guidance on AI governance, bias detection, and responsible implementation frameworks.
Concerns about algorithmic bias, fairness in performance evaluations, and data privacy are driving many organizations to seek external advisory support. IBM’s principles – such as transparency, client data ownership, and augmentation over automation – are shaping how enterprises adopt AI in sensitive HR areas.
One example of this in practice is IBM’s “HiRo” tool, which saved over 12,000 hours in a pilot deployment within IBM Consulting North America. These real-world results are reinforcing interest among Asian enterprises in scaling AI responsibly.
This topic will be a core agenda item at HR Technology Congress Asia 2025 – strategically co-located as part of AI Week Asia 2025 – reflecting the growing strategic importance of trust, fairness, and governance in digital HR transformation.
