Taipower Implements Real-Time Inertia Tech to Support Renewable Integration
With long-term offshore wind targets in place, Taiwan Power Company deploys real-time inertia tech to manage renewable integration and grid stability as clean power grows.
Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) has adopted real-time grid inertia measurement technology to address the growing variability from renewable energy sources.
Developed with Reactive Technologies, the system provides precise, real-time data on the grid’s inertia. This allows operators to quickly respond to imbalances, ensuring power quality for sensitive loads such as data centers.
The initiative supports Chinese Taipei’s ongoing offshore wind and solar integration efforts. Future phases will include AI and machine learning tools to forecast inertia needs more accurately.
With this deployment, Taipower joins a growing list of regional utilities using advanced digital tools to manage the demands of energy transition and AI compute stability.
