ACEN Moves Forward with 1GW Offshore Wind Project in the Philippines
ACEN and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners formalize a partnership for the Camarines offshore wind project, targeting up to 1GW of installed capacity.
ACEN Corporation has finalized an agreement to acquire a 25% stake in the Camarines Offshore Wind Energy Corporation, in partnership with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP). The deal supports the development of a planned 1-gigawatt offshore wind farm in Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur.
The agreement was confirmed in June 2025, following a share purchase and loan agreement signed in May. The project is expected to be one of the largest offshore wind developments in the Philippines.
ACEN CEO Eric Francia emphasized the significance of offshore wind as part of the country’s long-term energy diversification strategy. The company noted that the project’s location benefits from favorable wind resources and relatively lower exposure to typhoons.
This marks ACEN’s first large-scale offshore wind investment and is expected to contribute significantly to its renewable energy portfolio.
