Chunghwa Telecom Launches 12MW AI-Optimized Data Center in Taiwan

Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) has opened a 12-megawatt AI-ready data center in Taoyuan, designed to support high-performance computing and AI workloads. The facility is part of the company’s broader strategy to expand AI-ready infrastructure across Taiwan.
The Taoyuan data center features energy-efficient design elements and advanced power and cooling systems. It is positioned to serve AI and cloud services clients requiring high-density colocation capacity.
The company received the 2025 Competitive Strategy Leadership Award for Data Center Services from Frost & Sullivan, recognizing CHT’s commitment to aligning infrastructure investments with emerging technology needs.
CHT plans to upgrade existing data center facilities and develop its own AI computing cloud platform. The company’s AI 2.0 agenda includes network resilience improvements and the deployment of domain-specific AI applications across various industries.
These initiatives are aligned with the increasing power demands associated with AI technologies and the need for data center infrastructure that meets both performance and environmental goals.
